Two posts in one day!! I'm on a roll....

ha ha ha. Well, this post is just simply a funny story:

After watching the clips of the Julia Childs movie on TV Morgan thought it would be fun for us to cook through a cookbook as well. So we are one week into it and it has been fun. We chose a healthy cookbook with a lot of variety so we don't get bored, so far so good. Until last night. For our anniversary I was scheduled to make this bow tie pasta with homemade Red Pepper sauce, pretty safe right? WRONG!! Reading the ingredients should have clued me in to this disaster of a meal, but alas the meal was made. And then thrown out IMMEDIATELY after tasting!!! In my defense it was the recipe, not the cook!! :) I followed the recipe exactly as it said, and was then forced to smell the nasty concoction the rest of the evening. So for our revised anniversary dinner we enjoyed pizza a la Domino's and ice cream De Eddy's! My favorite part of this experience was Morgan's response to the meal...."This meal is awful! This should be something we fix when JD brings home a girlfriend we don't like!!" ha ha ha. Although, who is really being punished there?? That quote made it into the cookbook next to the recipe. Growing up my mom always wrote the date, opinion, and changes made next to each new recipe she made. (which was a lot! we weren't a family known to make the same meals over and over again.) This is a tradition I have continued, and it is making our cookbook challenge that much more fun!!
