Time is already flying!!

It has been one week since the Lord blessed us with our amazing son! I am so sad about how quickly the time already going by, but I do look forward to all the adventures yet to come. We have had the most wonderful week getting to know our son and being his parents. We have learned his "poo poo" face, how to tell when he is hungry, that he likes his crib better than the cradle, and just that he is simply our pride and joy! I am so excited about all the other fun things we have yet to learn about him.

J. David had his first Dr. appt on Friday. He only lost one ounce since he left the hospital (b/c he is such a wonderful eater!) and everything still looks great with him!! We go back in exactly one week and we hope that now since my milk is in he will be back up to his birth weight or at least close.

Initiation Night...

Tuesday night was our first night home with J.David and oh what a night it was! We now refer to Tues. night as Initiation Night into parenthood. It was a basically sleepless night with a marathon of feedings and lots of crying!! We can laugh about it today since we had a much better second night and plan on an even better night tonight. We have learned to have a pregame plan before actually entering the bed time hours. So cross your fingers for us tonight!

On a more serious note we have absolutely LOVED having our baby boy home! He is still a fantastic eater, loves to be rocked, and really loves his Daddy! Morgan has such a special touch to get J.D. calm. The ironic thing about that is when I was pregnant J. David would be moving like crazy but as soon as Morgan would put his hand on my stomach the baby would stop moving. I would joke with him that he was going to be the calmer of our baby boy, and he is!! Aside from being the calming touch to J.David, Morgan has been such a blessing! Watching him be a daddy is so sweet, and he has really taken care of his healing wife. I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful family!! Me and my two boys!

World....meet James David Trotter!!

What a WONDERFUL blessing we were given on October 21, 2007 at 10:52 pm!!
Saturday was my orignial due date and I went to bed very disappointed. I was convinced that my baby boy was not coming until induction on Wednesday. I even told Morgan before falling asleep that night how far away the entire experience felt. Well, was I WRONG! Sunday morning I woke up around 4:45 am to some pretty serious contractions. I started timing them around 5:30 to discover that they were only about 7 min. apart. My thought process from there kept jumping from..."WOO HOO THIS IS IT!!" to "Don't get too excited, stay calm!" Needless to say we were allowed to get excited! We went to the hospital around 10:30 am and after 2 epidurals, lots of wonderful support from our family, and about an hour of pushing we met our sweet James David! He is the most amazing blessing we have ever received! So far he is very calm and LOVES to eat! He started latching on about 2 hours after birth and is really making it easy on his mommy. We are home now enjoying each other and our new family. So far we have discovered that the glider in the nursery was a Fantastic purchase, going through multiple outfits in one afternoon is probably going to be a common occurance, and that the swing is already a hit!! Thanks Protiviti! And thank you to everyone for all their sweet calls, comments, and support! J. David can't wait to meet you all!! Taking after Mommy already...

I just got back from my LAST appt!! I can't believe it is already here! Even though my due date is tomorrow, my Dr. has no prediction on wether or not he will come before my induction date of Wed. Unfortunately, I have not progressed anymore this past week. Bummer. The Dr. said that he is just really happy in there! To me that says he is already taking after me...Very stubborn and set in his ways! Poor Morgan to have two personalities in one house like that! ha ha ha. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers and we will continue to update between now and go time!

We have finally finished the nursery!! (well, we lack the rug, but we will get it shortly). I hope you all enjoy seeing what we have been working on for the past 4 months! Let's think BABY!!

Ok, so I had another appt this morning and I am still 2 cm and 80% efaced! She said that I should expect to go to my due date and then if he isn't here before the 24th I will be induced. I really don't want to be induced! So tomorrow Morgan and I are going to go to Grant's Farm and walk walk walk walk.....in other words I hope to walk him out before the 24th! ha ha ha. We are officially all ready for his arrival. Morgan got sick one last time this week before the baby came, then I spent the next day sterilizing EVERYTHING in the house! Poor guy, I think I made him feel like a big giant germ....but I guess to me he was that day! ha ha ha. Hopefully all the sick is out of his system for a while, plus I've given him some serious lectures on rest and vitamins lately. The mom in me must be coming out already. Well, everyone have a great weekend and think baby with us!! We will post as soon as something happens!!

Another Dr. Appt....

Friday we had another Dr. Appt. and everything is really moving along! I am 2 cm dilated and thinning!! woo hoo!! We are making progress!! They still said they plan on seeing me next Friday, so I guess I can't get too excited yet...he still needs to drop some. Then after the Dr. I went to Morgan's office for lunch and a baby shower! It was so fun and they were SO generous! We have really been so blessed through this entire experience!! From family, friends, to co-workers I hope everyone knows that we would not be able to do any of this without you and we hope you all know how grateful we are!

Well, we finally decided to take some profile shots of baby boy! He is getting so big and so am I!! It was in the evening so keep in my the focus of these pictures is the baby belly....NOT mommy's hair and make-up! ha ha ha!! He is still quite the mover and although it is getting much more painful I still love it! I am so excited to have him here, but I do think I am going to miss feeling him move. There just isn't anything like it!! Well, we will continue to keep the updates coming, and lets keep our fingers crossed for a soon and quick delivery!!
