A Dog-gone day...

Today was an interesting day, a challenge really. I let Jaxon (our 2 1/2 year old yorkie) out in the backyard to go potty this morning. We have an electric fence but don't really use it b/c he knows his yard, is good about staying in it (usually), and he really only goes out to use the facilities. BUT..today I let him out and forgot about him...OOPS!! I forgot about him for over and hour, so needless to say I thought we had lost him forever. I screamed his name in the back, then in the front yard, and then in the back again...when suddenly through my tears I see a little black fur ball coming towards me from a few yards away tail tucked and ears back. Joyfully I run over to him, pick him up, and just as I am about to squeeze him with loving arms I smell him. WHOA BABY!!! The little dog had been playing in a much bigger dog's POOP!!! EWWWW!!! I mean he seriously smelled like he just had found a fresh cow patty and rolled and rolled in it. So the rest of my day was spent cleaning the dog, then cleaning the bathroom the dog was cleaned in, then trying to still remove the stank the dog left behind. And if there is one thing I hate in my home it is stink!! I became a hair short of obsessed with removing this smell and keeping the dog off any carpet in the house. Luckily for him that only keeps him out of two rooms. Anyway, this all went on while my beautiful son was having a "don't put me down day". So my day was full of Poop, screaming, and cleaning....AHHHH!!! Anybody want a dog?? just kidding, we love him. Hope everyone else had a great day!!

Here is J.David during the only 45 min break of the day. I felt it was a picture worthy moment! ha ha ha. I sure do wish he liked naps!!

Spring has Sprung!!

We FINALLY got a nice weekend and enjoyed every min of it! Friday Morgan and I went to the ballgame to watch a win, GO CARDS!! J.David stayed with his loving grandparents and Aunt Natalie. It was nice to get out and be social again, even despite the cold. Saturday was BEAUTIFUL! Everyone was either outside working on their yards or at Forest Park. We went to Forest Park and visited the St. Louis Zoo for the first time...WHAT A BLAST!! It was beyond crowded but still so fun to take J.David on his first Zoo outing. He saw a few animals but was way more interested in all the people. He is so observant these days. Here are some pictures of our fun day!

A little update on my J.David:
His personality is really coming out more and more each day!! He is a human garbage disposal eating everything I give him and reaching for everything on my plate. Once he can start having the stuff on my plate I am in trouble!! He is starting to sit up on his own and showing preferences on who holds him and what toys he wants to play with. That is both good and bad...ha ha ha. A smile is his standard facial expression...such a happy boy!!

J. David Loves Jaxon!!

Well it's official, J. David thinks Jaxon is really really funny!! As you can see in the video, Jaxon keeps his distance until a 5 month old little boy starts laughing at him. Jaxon was depressed for a few days after this self-esteem destroyer. J. David has begun to develop many different laughs. It's really cool to see what may come out of his mouth next.

Hoppy Easter!!

The picture was from last week...I couldn't resist a true puppy dog face picture to start the blog!!

Sorry about the blog delay! We had a crazy week last week and I just never seemed to find the time to sit and write. I will try not to let this one get too long. This past weekend was a BIG weekend! We left Thursday night for Searcy and had to adjust our route due to the floods in MO and AR. So sad how quickly that water was able to rise and destroy so many lives. We were glad that we were able to get past it though and still be able to make it to Spring Sing. We had so much fun spending time with family and friends that we don't get to see as often as we wish we could. J.David also turned 5 months over the weekend and I can't believe what a difference just a few months makes when it comes to traveling. He was such a trooper on the trip down there and he was even more entertaining,, as he is really becoming interactive. Talking (goo-goo gaa-gaa), spitting, squealing, spitting, laughing, and did I mention spitting?? ha ha ha. He is such a happy baby always smiling the biggest smiles, he is going to be a heart breaker!
The weekend was also very special for a number of reasons:
1) He got to meet his Great-grandparents Trotter
2) He watched his Auntie Em win Spring Sing!! GO KOJIES and JU GO JU!!
He actually did a great job sitting through the show and was so intrigued by all the lights and music. It was so sweet to watch him watch the show. Harding just does an outstanding job with it all...such a production! Here are some pictures from the weekend. And I will have to post some more in a part two since my memory card is at my mom's with pictures from the first part of the weekend. These are mainly from the show and from Easter Sunday. Enjoy!

A walk in the Park

Today we finally had a beautiful day!! We were so excited that we invited some of our friends over to join us for a walk on a nearby trail. It was so fun to get out and get some exercise and even more exciting to get J.David outside. We have been cooped up for so long it was so wonderful to be outside!! Here are some pictures from our walk today and from Auntie Em's visit home for Spring Break.

J.David right before the walk started....he was out!!!

J.David, Asher, and Maren (the red stroller) posing in front of the Grant's Farm clydesdales. The trail goes right past Grant's farm.

Half way through we took a picture of my sweet little ham...he has such a sense of humor! I am so thankful for my happy baby! Cheese mom!!
Auntie Em and J.David out for Tea!!

This was last Tues. We got about 8 inches!! What a huge difference a week can make!!

Meeting Eden!

Last weekend we made the trip to TN to meet Eden Michelle. My first Niece!! (I am one PROUD aunt) Morgan's sister and brother-in-law had their baby a week ago and we couldn't wait to meet J.David's very first cousin! She is SOOO beautiful and tiny. We felt so lucky that Mike and Leanne were willing to let us come and hang out only a week after her birth. Thanks guys!! Here is a picture of Grandma Shelley with her grandchildren. It is so amazing what a difference 4 months makes right now!! We are so excited to have a cousin so close in age and are looking forward to all the fun these two are going to have together! And thanks to Lauren and Jordan for their hospitality and babysitting skills. We miss you guys and were so excited to get to spend some time with you!!

And what would a post be without some silly J.David photos?? So here they are, Mr. Talkative himself....We looked over the other night and he was scooting himself almost out of his swing. ha ha. It scares me how much more he looks like a little boy here than a baby!!

This was how we found him Sat. morning before our road trip.

Snuggle time with Daddy Sunday after we got home. SO SWEET!!
