Myles Glenn Trotter

I am about a week and a half behind on this post, but its been a whirlwind!  Tuesday, August 31, 2010, Myles Glenn Trotter came into the world!  That Monday before I had given up on thinking that he was going to come early.  After a weekend of steady contractions Monday was completely silent, until I got into bed that night.  Morgan and I had stayed up a little later than normal and before we even turned out the lights my contractions started with a vengence.  The first ones starting at about 5-6 min apart and suddenly going to 3 min and 2 1/2 min.  WHAT?!?  We waited the recommended hour before calling the Dr. and heading out (even though we had the car already loaded, we knew this was it!)  My parents who live in town were on an extended weekend get away to NYC and Morgan's family who are usually only a 5 hour drive were in Destin, FL and we were on strict orders from both mothers to NOT have this baby while they were all so far away.  Apparently Myles had other plans.  Luckily, being the crazy planner I am already had our dear friends the Kelley's lined up to be "on-call" just in case, I even had all of J.David's bags packed for their house... LUCKILY!!  THANK YOU KELLEYS!!  Back labor kicked in before we left the house and by the time we got to the hospital I was hurting with very little relief in between contractions due to the back labor and contractions ranging from 2-3 min apart.  Sounds like this is going to be a short story, right?  WRONG!  ha ha.  They admitted me a little before 1 am and immediately offered up the drugs, I had hoped to wait this time, but that back labor changed EVERYTHING.  This slowed things down a little but with a little medical encouragement Myles was born at 12:25pm and was perfect!  The reason for the back labor was b/c he was posterior (face up) and being the 9 lb bundle of joy he was didn't offer much room for relief.  Thank you Mr. Epidural!!

My parents came home Tuesday night and took over J.David duty and after two days in the hospital we were able to bring our family of four home!  J.David LOVES his brother so much and is doing awesome!  Myles is the most precious, laid back baby and we already can't imagine life without him!  He sleeps and eats beautifully and is the perfect addition to our family. Here are some pictures of our joyous event:
