Along with being a terrible blogger, I have also been a bad photographer lately as well. Ooops! Here are some great J.David updates along with a few pics I actually do have.
Despite our continued struggles with getting JD to eat, one thing I can say is that he LOVES fruit!! Here he is eating one of his faves: Apples! But he will eat pretty much any fruit that is laid in front of him in mass quantities. If only he had that mentality with all things.....wishful thinking.
Riding his new bike on the one nice day we've had nearly all year. (Its been COLD and snowy, we're ready for spring!!)
In our desperate attempts to stay entertained in the cold we have a new favorite hang out: Monkey Joe's! Its a giant place full of blow up jump toys!! He loves it b/c it is fun, Mom loves it for the nap that is easily provided after every visit. This is our little dare devil sliding down the HUGE slide!! Parents aren't allowed on the toys so he climbed this all by himself!! He was by far the smallest one on this slide, such a stud!
The first snow with temperatures decent enough to go outside in. Still a little cold for my taste but for the grand 15-20 minutes we were out there it was great! Still waiting on that frosty building snow though (snowman that is). He was a little unsure of the snow and very disappointed that we couldn't make a frosty, but cheered up after Daddy came out to go sledding! (penguin style?) ha ha ha.
Look at the rim of his bowl. ha ha ha! Breakfast for dinner night at our house and he chose cereal. He then proceeded to count each one after the line up. He can count to 10 if you kick start him with a, "one", but this night he decided to count free-style, "two, four, eight, eleven, nine". Maybe he will follow in his Daddy's accounting footsteps? ha ha ha.
Today's outing: Ice Skating!! I've referenced before his love for hockey so this day was a long time coming. We were trying to hold out for the beautiful Forest Park outdoor rink, but arg! the cold! So, since Morgan took the majority of the day off we headed to the ice. He loved getting on his skates, and was really excited to get on the ice, until he immediately slipped. Then it took a little more effort and only once around the rink before he preferred to be a spectator. And he was a great one! He laughed and pointed (oops!) every time a kid fell on the ice. (He must have learned this from his Daddy??) Upon leaving he admitted to having fun, but said he didn't want to try it again. I told him next time we'd get him a real teacher and he liked that idea better. I guess one can't "homeschool" ice skating unless you know to skate well yourself. ha ha. We followed up a short hour (most of which getting skates on and off) at the rink with a long but fun lunch at Mimi's Cafe. Thanks Auntie Em for joining us today! Sorry we lacked more pics of you on the ice!
